The Willits Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the 6th Annual Hometown Celebration on Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 5pm to 9pm. Our theme “Celebrate Our Independents” focuses on independent businesses as part of the Chamber’s ongoing Shop Local campaign.
Local businesses will stay open until 9:00 PM. Event activities include: live music, vendor booths, games, food, a prize wheel, and more.
The Willits Chamber of Commerce, along with a team of business owners, non-profit organizations and City representatives that comprise the Local First Committee, are dedicated to providing independent business owners with opportunities to reach locals and visitors alike. All businesses and organizations within the greater Willits area are welcome to participate in the Hometown Celebration.
The shopping is great! As you stroll through the downtown area, stop in and browse our local merchants. Many will have discounts and sales for the evening! They will also be open late for your shopping pleasure, and will be glad to see you! Your purchases could win you ticket for a FREE spin on our famous prize wheel located at the Willits Chamber of Commerce and Local First booth.
Vendor booths line Main Street and fill parking lots, side streets, and alley ways in downtown Willits. You can shop for anything from art and crafts, cookery, hardware, massage, furniture, to shoes, craft supplies, body essentials, children’s clothing and services, gift items, books, videos, music, hair care, good eats, drink and much more. Whew!!! All of this available from our vendors and downtown merchants! Sure to meet any and all of your needs and desires!

Everyone is invited to come to these evenings of fun, games, food and fellowship on the 4th Friday of the month (except Nov. & Dec.) at 6pm at the Willits United Methodist Church (corner of School and Pine Streets, across from the Little Lake Grange).
There is a yummy, home-cooked food free of charge! A donation is requested and ALL money collected goes to the designated non-profit for that month.
Bring family and friends, a game to play and/or a dish to share if desired. Each month there is a different food theme.
Raffle for door prizes! EVERYONE gets a raffle ticket.

Opening night for the Willits Frontier Days Carnival!
The carnival will be running from July 1st through the 5th, the carnival offers rides, food and fun for kids and adults.
Classics like the Gravitron and the Zipper give those hoping for a thrill a run for their cotton candy and carnival games including darts, ping pong balls for goldfish and more test the skills of all attendees.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy tasty food including popcorn, candy apples, ice cream, and treats as they stroll through the clean and well lit midway.

Participants in the classes will discuss health issues while learning how to cook healthy vegetarian meals. The cooking classes are free.
The six-class series will be held Sunday afternoons from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Friendship House, 389 W. Mendocino Ave., Willits. Class dates are February 24, March 24, April 21, May 19, June 9, and June 30. Participants may join anytime during the series.
Topics such as chronic disease and prevention, blood sugar levels and the glycemic index, proteins and inflamation, heart health and fats, bone health and calcium, will be addressed.
