You know about the Par Course in Brooktrails, but where else can you go hiking around here if you don’t have acreage of your own? A map to hiking trails in Brooktrails – including Thimbleberry, Robie, Rockefeller, Inlet, Fawn Lily, Gooseberry, and Last Chance Trails – can be found at the Brooktrails Community Offices or at the Willits Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center.
You can also hike in the newly refurbished Little Darby Educational Area, just 15 minutes east of downtown Willits on Canyon Road. Interpretive signs along the trail help identify plants and wildlife. Click here for info and directions: http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/arcata/little_darby.print.html
The newly completed Haehl Creek Walking Trail near the new hospital offers a short, easy walk complete with benches for rest and contemplation. Click here for more info: https://www.facebook.com/HaehlCreekTrail/timeline
